Some couples dream of enjoying a winter wedding, with a beautiful ceremony, a cosy reception, and frosty wedding photos. At Hog Roast Stanton, we have plenty of menus that are perfect for warming up your guests on a cold January day, including this delicious option…
Lara and her husband have always loved the winter the most since it is so beautiful and picturesque in their hometown, a lovely village in Suffolk. Because of this, the pair knew they wanted to get married in the winter, with a reception taking place in January. Our catering manager Tim discussed several menu options with the couple and we talked about which menus would be best for enjoying on a cold January afternoon. It was decided that our classic hog roast would be ideal, with a few additional dishes to create a well-rounded and delicious afternoon meal. This event was sure to be a beautiful occasion and the Hog Roast Stanton team soon got to work on planning the perfect menu.
In preparation for this event, the Hog Roast Stanton team will arrive at the reception venue in the morning, giving us plenty of time to prepare for the 2:00pm serving time. We will begin by slow-roasting the hog, which will require around five hours to cook to perfection. Once ready, it will be expertly carved and served in fresh bread rolls, alongside sage and onion stuffing, homemade applesauce, and crispy crackling. Alternatively, the guests can enjoy marinated chicken kebabs, or BBQ-pulled jackfruit, which is a delicious veggie main dish. For the side dishes, we will be serving a variety of comforting and warming dishes. The menu is set to include mac and cheese, roasted baby potatoes, corn cobettes, roasted seasonal vegetables, and homemade gravy. The Hog Roast TOWN team is expecting this menu to go down a treat since it is full of warming and delicious dishes that are perfect for enjoying on a chilly January day.
