Sometimes your special day doesn’t quite always come off as you’d envisioned. Even setting up during the summer wedding season doesn’t guarantee you protection from the whims of the great British weather. Even with all the planning, sometimes you can go from bright sunshine to gale force winds and pouring rain – but it is all just a part of the lifelong memories all the same.
At least, that’s what our brilliant wedding customers of this past bank holiday week, Amba and Matt, will be telling themselves as a somewhat clear day in Woodbridge soon quickly turned against their special day. Thankfully, with Hog Roast Woodbridge by their side to cater, no amount of rain or wind was quite going to spoil the day completely. Our head chef Tim had a grand old time battling the wind to make sure that our signature hog roast still came out perfectly crisp, golden, and tender; the antipasti platters still got out from the kitchen and well away from the elements as guests had cover under a marquee tent; the dining still came off just as we had hoped, only with some added fun and chaos into the mix just to make things more interesting.
Amba and Matt had requested the works with our wedding dining package. We often recommend customers to begin with a canape or an antipasti platter starter to their reception. It sets a great tone and gives guests something nice to tide them over until the main event without spoiling their appetite. For this event it was our fine meat and cheese antipasti platters, each served to guest tables for easy pickings. Our hog roast buffet began shortly thereafter, but only after the wedding party got their servings first with service brought directly to their top table before it was open season for every other guest. The Hog Roast Woodbridge team had many choices for them, including our signature pork roast, grilled veg and halloumi skewers or BBQ pulled jackfruit as veggie/vegan alternatives, and sides of gourmet coleslaw, mixed leaves, tomato and mozzarella salad, roasted new potatoes, and then dessert options of profiteroles and tarte au citron.
