There are days in this job that are an absolute pleasure. As a hog roast specialist, the thing that we really love most is just being able to cook a glorious roast in incredible locations, often out in the sun with views that would take your breath away. Where our head chef Tim not a caterer with Hog Roast Beccles, the chances are high that you would find him spending most weekends just smoking some meat and doing the same with a incredible roast anyway – only there would be less people to cook for!
This weekend’s event brought us one such even that once again offered our team that perfect bliss. This was a local event held here in Beccles, where locals Ellen and Doug celebrated their wedding anniversary surrounded by friends and family. To add even more special flavour into this day filled with plenty of love and joy already, they requested catering from Hog Roast Beccles. We of course were more than happy to join – any event solely focused on love, joy and memories is a winner in our books as is – but what really sold this event to Tim in particular was the location. We were told that this would be a riverside event, which sounded like just the most perfect, idyllic place to be cooking up one of our prize hog roasts.
And when we get there, well, it most certainly was! A bright shining summer’s day, riverside views directly on the doorstep of our hog roast, the odd boat passing by – it could not have been better. This is one of the added bonuses we get when we cater at Hog Roast Beccles – days like this where it just feels like the only place on earth where you would want to be. To be joined with 90 other guests too, well that’s just the icing on top!
For those lucky 90 also with us, along with Ellen and Doug, a great menu awaited to accompany the wonderful riverside vibes. Our hog roast, sage and onion stuffing, crispy crackling, herb dressed new potatoes, seasonal leafy greens, coleslaw, tomato and mozzarella salad, and grilled veg and halloumi skewers. Delicious dining by the river, and a lovely anniversary that brought it all together!
