With April almost over, Hog Roast Bramford has been looking ahead to May, which is set to be a very busy and exciting month indeed for our caterers!
Starting the month with a bang, Hog Roast Bramford has been asked to help out with a celebration, which is set to take place on May 4th, a.k.a. Star Wars Day. The organiser of this event, Matthew, is a lifelong Star Wars fan and has spent the last few months planning this themed event for fellow fans in and around Suffolk.
Everyone who comes along has been asked to dress the part, so we’re expecting to see lots of Luke Skywalkers, Darth Vaders, Obi-Wans and Princess Leias when the time comes! Aiming to create an authentic Star Wars atmosphere, Matthew has also sourced some incredible props to display around his venue, rented a space-themed photo booth and hired a mixologist to serve Star Wars-themed cocktails and mocktails to his guests.
As for the food, our catering manager, Tim, has been proudly assisting with that. Tim has been working closely with Matthew and helping him maximise his event’s potential by making menu recommendations based on the dietary preferences of the 200 guests who will be attending.
Among the 200 people who have confirmed they will be at the event, 30 are either vegetarian or vegan, so Hog Roast Bramford has made some adjustments to the menu to make sure the needs of these guests are met, starting with the inclusion of BBQ-pulled jackfruit rolls and grilled vegetable and halloumi kebabs as main course options, along with some plant-based appetisers.
The majority of the guests will be treated to our trademark hog roast, but at Matthew’s request, we’ll be removing the head of the animal before making our way to the venue so as not to upset any of the non-meat-eating guests.
As always, the meat will be slow-cooked to perfection and served with sage and onion stuffing, crackling, applesauce and a variety of delicious sides, which we’re positive the guests will love. We’ll also be preparing Italian-style antipasti platters featuring deli meats, cheeses and artisan breads, which will be served at various points of the venue for the guests to pick at throughout the event.
